Wh-question skills in children can be reinforced through various methods, such as encouraging them to ask questions, reading story books with them, helping them express their emotions, encouraging receptive skills, etc. Various wh-question activities can be used at home and school to foster wh-questions in young minds.

1. WH Chipper Chat
WH Chipper Chat is an interesting game to teach young kids wh-questions. The game has ten themed board games, with five different scenes in each game, totaling 50 game boards. Each themed board game has 100 wh-questions, 20 in each scene, covering wh-questions like who, what, when, where, and why. That sums up to 1000 wh-questions in one single game.
A game comes with an easy-to-use checklist to assess what questions have been asked and what is yet to ask. Additionally, the game includes a magnetic chip and a magnetic wand. Each correct answer will permit the player to place the chip on the board, and when the board is filled with all the right answers, kids can use their magnetic wand to remove the chips from their board.
The game can be easily played among one to five players and is an exciting way to enhance learning of wh-questions among children. You can easily mix the questions to make the game more challenging and exciting.
2. Curious Kids Gameboard
Curious Kids Gameboard is a perfect game to keep children focused and entertained, all while improving their wh-questions knowledge. The game has an appealing board and attractive elements to enhance the child’s interest. The game has six game boards dealing with the types of questions including who, what, where, when, and why.
Up to six people can play the game at a time. Each player has to pick one cat pawn, and every cat pawn has a unique color. Players have to roll the foam dice, move the cat markers on the game board, and answer the question correctly written on the board. Whichever cat pawn reaches the finish line first wins!

The game is a unique tool to develop children’s skills, such as listening and responding, reading and understanding, differentiating between different visual stimuli, and improving reading comprehension skills.
The teachers or parents can use the additional guide with the game to further help children improve wh-question skills. It is a fun game to keep children engaged and cognitively sharp.
4. Wh- Bingo
Another fun and interesting board game for young kids is Wh-Bingo. It is similar to a regular Bingo game with a twist of Wh-questions. It is a great tool to improve children’s reading comprehension and verbal expression skills. Teachers or parents can facilitate the game, and two to six players can play the game in one go.
The game involves six unique front and back bingo boards, and each card is dedicated to a single wh-question, such as who, what, where, when, why, and a combination of each wh-question. Additionally, the game involves 144 Wh calling cards and 200 bingo chips. The cards have different questions written on them, and the bingo board has its answer. The player with the right answer will put their chip on the board, and whoever answers all questions correctly and quickly will win.
It is a unique way to test the children’s knowledge and teach them the different uses of various wh-questions. The attractive visuals on the board also help children relate the answer with some images.
5. Let’s find out Who…?
A unique and exciting game to equip kids with the wh-word “who” and its uses. It is a useful tool to improve the kids’ verbal and comprehension skills and teach them about the different occupations and professions. The game involves twenty-seven sets of matchup cards, where 27 different professions are written in a question format, and the answers are represented in visual formats. Kids have to go through each card and match the right pair.
This board game further helps improve visual discrimination skills, expressive and receptive language, and reading skills while fostering the habit of asking and answering questions. Additionally, the game comes with an activity guide to further improve the language skills of the young kids.
6. “Wh” Question Blast Off!
“Wh” Question Blast Off! is an exciting and interactive game with a visually appealing theme to keep kids interested and focused in the game. The game includes an outer space-themed game board and 200 colorful WH-Question playing cards with 40 cards of each wh-question word- who, what, when, where, and why. Additionally, the game has wonderful rockets for playing the game, a dice, and some astronaut pawns.
A maximum of six players can play this game and it can easily be facilitated by educators or parents. To play the game, each player chooses their own astronaut pawn that moves around in outer space orbit. A player will roll the dice and move the marker on the board according to the dice scores. According to the color-coded space on the board where the player’s astronaut pawn will land, the player will have to answer the question. For instance, if the pawn lands on green space, the player has to answer a ‘why’ question.
Each correct answer will permit the player to launch their rocket on the moon. The first player to launch their rocket to the moon ten times will win the game. The game board has bonus spaces available. If the pawn lands on bonus space, a correct answer to a ‘why’ question will result in two rockets launched at the same time. It is a wonderful game to teach children wh-questions and simultaneously improve their language and cognitive skills.
